Hello, I'm Izumi. I was born and raised in Kanazawa, Japan.
I previously worked at the Ishikawa Prefectural Office and was involved in various projects such as inbound tourism, airport management and environmental policy. Leading foreign visitors around Kanazawa City and Ishikawa Prefecture was my initial experience guiding. I currently guide tours in Kanazawa, Kaga hot spring area, Noto Peninsula, Shirakawago and Takayama.
Kanazawa is a one of the largest castle towns in Japan and retains many streets and cultural elements from the old days. The city was appointed the first UNESCO Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art of Japan in 2009. Kanazawa is the ideal place to see and experience traditional Japanese arts and crafts including gold leaf, Kaga Yuzen dyed-silk, lacquerware and more.
As a member of Japanese Garden and Castle Study Group I love to stroll around Kenrokuen Garden, Kanazawa Castle and other lovely samurai house gardens. In addition to the main tourist spots I offer traditional arts and crafts experiences, tea ceremony, Zen meditation and more.
I look forward to exploring the jewel of Kanazawa with my guests.
